Reading and Math Intervention Services at Sheldon Elementary
Using an MTSS model, student progress is reviewed on a regular basis to determine needs for adjustments and supports at each Tier. We do this through grade level team meetings (core team), meetings with various specialists (extended team meetings), parent meetings, and EST meetings. These consultation meetings play a critical role in supporting student learning.
Our math and reading specialists and interventionists provide scientific, research- based reading or math interventions for the students in addition to the core curriculum received in their classroom. A student’s progress is monitored and data-based decisions will be made regarding the interventions used and their effectiveness. Learning data is collected and analyzed. Student progress is monitored and shared with all those involved on the student’s team.
